Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» of Queensland has pushed into the world’s top 50 on another university league table – this time the 2018 assessment of the world's top 1250 universities.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Acting Vice-Chancellor and President  said Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»’s rise to rank 45 – up from 52 – was a confirmation of the University’s status as a research and learning powerhouse.

“This ranking follows on Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»’s strong performance in other respected rankings, such as the National University of Taiwan’s Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities, where Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» this month rose to rank 41, up from 72 five years ago,” he said.

“That ranking and this latest table recognise Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» as one of Australia’s top three universities, along with the universities of Melbourne and Sydney.

“My congratulations go to everyone in the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» community who has worked hard over many years to build the solid base of research and learning that is earning international plaudits,” Professor Byrne said.
