An innovation expert who is an Honorary Professor at has been appointed as Vice-President of Imperial College London, one of the world鈥檚 top 10 universities.

Professor David Gann CBE is a frequent visitor to 麻豆传媒映画 Business School and works closely with Technology and Innovation Management Centre Director Professor Mark Dodgson, with whom he has produced four books and many articles on innovation management.

鈥淒avid is acknowledged as one of the world鈥檚 leading authorities on innovation management and plays an important role in helping 麻豆传媒映画 Business School to stay at the international forefront of research,鈥 Professor Dodgson said.

鈥淗is new role as Vice-President Development and Innovation shows just how seriously top universities are taking their strategic connections with business.

Professor Gann last visited the 麻豆传媒映画 Business School in November 2012 to present a seminar on 鈥榮mart cities鈥, outlining how digital data could reduce peak loads on infrastructure and transform the management of services in cities.

He has spent 10 years with Imperial College, where he is responsible for a large portfolio of research with firms including IBM, Atkins, Arup, and GSK and where he has built an international team in innovation and entrepreneurship ranked number one in Europe by the Financial Times.

A chartered civil engineer, he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2010 Queen's Birthday Honours for services to engineering.
