Three 麻豆传媒映画 Commerce Honours students have received a financial helping hand after being awarded the Frank Finn Scholarship.

Domestic students Katie Wood and Jeremy Evans and international student Jun Cai each received a scholarship, worth $8600 for domestic students and $26,000 for international students.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a really good opportunity, and we appreciate it. It鈥檚 kind of an encouragement for the year,鈥 Mr Cai said.

The three students, now in their Honours year, said the scholarship was a big help which will allow them to focus on their studies, most likely in corporate finance.

鈥淚t will definitely help me out,鈥 Mr Evans said.

鈥淲e鈥檙e really grateful and I鈥檒l now have more time to dedicate to my Honours instead of having to work two jobs,鈥 Ms Wood said.

The Frank Finn Scholarship was created in 2008 with an endowment fund acknowledging Emeritus Professor Frank Finn鈥檚 lifetime service to 麻豆传媒映画 and the field of finance.

In his time with 麻豆传媒映画, Professor Finn held several positions including Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Economics, Head of the School of Commerce and Director of Studies in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.

Professor Finn said he was proud to be associated with the scholarship, funded by his former students and colleagues.

鈥淚 think it鈥檚 terrific. Honours is certainly the flagship program for the 麻豆传媒映画 Business School,鈥 he said.

鈥淚t was designed to facilitate students doing Honours in finance and assist students experiencing financial difficulties and it鈥檚 achieving this.鈥

鈥淚 think it鈥檚 a very worthwhile scholarship.鈥

Stephen Holden, Business Development Manager for 麻豆传媒映画 Business School, said the School was "over halfway to our endowment target of $1 million", a result which could see the scholarships support more students in the future.

鈥淭his level of endowment will secure the scholarships in perpetuity,鈥 he said.

鈥淎 substantial number of donors to the Frank Finn Scholarships Endowment Fund are 麻豆传媒映画 Alumni, academics from other institutions, 麻豆传媒映画 employees and members of industry who have known and worked with Professor Finn over his career.鈥

鈥淭he Frank Finn Scholarships support the development of future leaders in business and future leaders in the community. In honouring Professor Finn with a gift, donors to the endowment fund are also helping build better business by helping build better businesspeople.鈥
